Wimbledon is the hardest Grand Slam ticket in tennis. Unlike the French Open or the US Open, most Wimbledon tickets cannot be bought on demand — they are allocated by ballot or earned by queueing. Here is every legitimate route to The Championships 2027 (June 28 – July 11), with the honest pros and cons of each.
1. The public ballot
The AELTC runs a public ballot through myWimbledon, typically opening in the autumn before The Championships. Entry is free, but success is a lottery: you cannot choose your day or court, and demand vastly exceeds supply. If you are set on a specific day — a semifinal, or the finals weekend — the ballot cannot guarantee it.
2. The Queue
Wimbledon famously sells a limited number of tickets each day to people who queue in person, many camping overnight in Wimbledon Park. It is a beloved tradition and the cheapest way in, but show-court tickets require queueing from the night before, and availability shrinks in the second week. If you are travelling internationally, building your trip around the Queue is a gamble.
3. Official hospitality packages
Corporate hospitality packages bundle a reserved seat with dining. They are a reliable route but are usually sold as packages with pricing to match, often well beyond the ticket itself.
4. Debenture tickets — the only legal resale route
Wimbledon debentures are five-year seat licences issued by the AELTC to fund ground development. Debenture holders receive a seat for every day of The Championships — and uniquely, debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets that may legally be resold. Every other Wimbledon ticket is non-transferable.
That makes debentures the route for anyone who wants certainty: you pick your exact day and court, you know your seats are among the best in the stadium, and the purchase is legitimate by design. Debenture holders also enjoy exclusive lounges, bars and restaurants inside the grounds. Read our full Wimbledon debenture guide for how they work.
Which route is right for you?
If you are flexible and lucky: enter the ballot. If you are in London and love the tradition: join the Queue. If you want a guaranteed seat on a specific day — especially Centre Court in the second week — debenture tickets are the dependable option.
GoalTickets carries Wimbledon 2027 debenture tickets for Centre Court (all 14 days) and No.1 Court, priced per person with digital delivery and seats together guaranteed. See the full price guide or check the FAQ.
