Is It Legal to Buy Resold Tickets?
Dernière mise à jour :
It depends on the event and where it takes place. Each event organizer sets its own ticket terms, including whether and how tickets can be transferred, and local regulations differ from one country, state and event to another. This page explains what GoalTickets is, what to check before you buy, and what the GoalTickets guarantee covers. It is general information, not legal advice.
About GoalTickets
GoalTickets is an independent secondary ticket (resale) marketplace, based in Long Beach, California, USA, and operating since 2011. We are not the event organizer or an official box office, and we are not affiliated with any event organizer, team, venue or governing body. Prices are set by the resale market and can be above or below face value.
Rules vary by event and jurisdiction
Organizer terms, transfer rules and local regulations vary by event and jurisdiction. Before you buy, we recommend that you:
- Read the organizer's ticket terms for your event, including any rules on transfers, named tickets and entry.
- Check how your tickets will be delivered for your event in How Are My Tickets Delivered?
- Ask us before you buy if anything is unclear: call or WhatsApp +1 (562) 682-9403, or email sales@goaltickets.com.
US events
Events held in the United States, such as the LA 2028 Summer Games, take place within a long-established secondary ticket market where prices are set by supply and demand. Rules can still differ by state and by event, and each organizer sets its own ticket terms, so check those terms for your event.
Wimbledon: debenture tickets
Under the All England Club's ticket terms, debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets that may be resold, and other tickets, such as ballot and queue tickets, are non-transferable. That is why every Wimbledon ticket in our Wimbledon collection is a debenture ticket for Centre Court or No.1 Court, sold with digital delivery before the event. Our Wimbledon resale guide summarizes the All England Club's terms, and our Wimbledon debenture guide explains how debentures work.
French Open (Roland-Garros)
About GoalTickets: GoalTickets is a U.S.-based independent secondary marketplace. We are not affiliated with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) or Roland-Garros, and we are not an official Roland-Garros ticket seller.
Organizer terms: Roland-Garros tickets are nominative, meaning they are issued in a named holder's account in the official Roland-Garros app, and the organizer sets its own ticket and transfer terms. Organizer terms, transfer rules and local regulations vary by event and jurisdiction, so please review the Roland-Garros ticket terms before you buy.
Our French Open FAQ covers delivery and entry in detail.
What the GoalTickets guarantee covers

- If an event is officially cancelled and not postponed or rescheduled, GoalTickets will refund 100% of the amount you paid to GoalTickets for the cancelled tickets.
- If your tickets do not arrive, you get a full refund.
- Wrong or invalid tickets are covered by the guarantee.

How to buy resold tickets safely
- Use an established marketplace with verifiable reviews. GoalTickets is rated 4.5/5 on Trustpilot (66 reviews, October 2026) and has sold over 1 million tickets since 2011.
- Confirm the price shown is the final price. On GoalTickets, what you see is what you pay, with no GoalTickets fees added at checkout.
- Prefer mobile or electronic delivery, which is how modern venues validate entry.
- Check the seat category against a map before you buy. Our seating chart library covers the major venues we sell.
More buying questions are answered in our Help Center, including payment and fees and venue entry rules.
