Wimbledon Ballot 2027: Dates, How It Works and Options If You Miss Out
The Wimbledon Public Ballot for 2027 is closed. It closed at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September 2026. If you applied, the AELTC contacts successful applicants and invites them to pay for the tickets allocated to them. If you missed out, your remaining routes to The Championships 2027 (Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July 2027) are the Queue, official hospitality and travel packages, and debenture tickets, the only Wimbledon tickets the AELTC allows to be resold.

How the Wimbledon ballot works
- Create a myWimbledon account. You need one to apply, and the AELTC uses your details to check your identity.
- Apply while the ballot is open. Only one application is allowed per household, per email address and per myWimbledon account, and the same payment card can't be used on more than one application.
- Wait for the draw. You can't choose your day, court or seats. An automated draw allocates the best tickets available at the time.
- If you're successful, you're invited to buy the tickets allocated to you, at the AELTC's published prices.
- If you're unsuccessful, the AELTC may invite you to the Ticket Return Shop, an online first-come, first-served sale open only to unsuccessful ballot applicants.
Wheelchair user tickets have their own dedicated ballot, and the AELTC can include Grounds Passes in the ballot at its discretion.
Ballot ticket rules to know before you apply
- No resale. Apart from debenture tickets, Wimbledon tickets must not be sold, transferred or advertised for sale. The AELTC says tickets advertised for sale or transfer will be void.
- Guests are allowed, with limits. You can pass a ticket to a family member or friend with whom you have a genuine prior relationship, free or for no more than its face value. You must keep at least one ticket from your application and go with your guest.
- No name changes. Except in exceptional circumstances, you can't change the name on your application.
- Declining has a cost. If you turn down or refund tickets from a successful application, you can't apply in later sales phases reserved for ballot applicants.
- Bring photo ID. The AELTC's Conditions of Entry say entry needs a valid ticket plus original photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.

What about the LTA ballot?
The AELTC lists the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) as one of the official ways to buy Wimbledon tickets, and its ticket terms allow sales phases limited to LTA members. LTA allocations run under the LTA's own rules, so check with the LTA or your tennis club rather than the public ballot.
